“It’s about the park - feeling the trees, sky, and stars above. It’s about inviting park-goers in for an experience. And it’s about getting back to our Mexican roots,” said Mi Cocina’s President and CEO. “We’re known for Tex-Mex, let’s take a step to underscore the Mex.”

The interior is now clad in black Mexican lava stone, carefully placed wall grazing draws attention in to the core, putting the activity of diner and bar-goers in the foreground. The existing leaf motif perforated ceiling tiles are now both uplit and have selected downlight locations with wirelessly-controlled RGBW lamps above that typically provide a warm sunset ambiance for evening and night dining.

Abstracted “tree branches” house the uplights and adjustable downlights to float the ceiling above, yet also focus the attention to the tables below. All elements together set a cozy interior-exterior mood.
